The Coordinator’s Corner . . .

             The Coordinator’s Corner

Winter has arrived in Goshen and it is definitely chilly but Goshen Community Care and Hospice volunteers are out in the community driving residents to appointments, visiting the home bound and residents in the nursing homes and hospitals, preparing a meal, hospice volunteering and helping at the Tuesday senior social.
Our Tuesday senior social is the happening place to be. We offer light refreshments, cards, scrabble, dominoes and Mahjong. The first Tuesday of the month (weather permitting) lunch is served at 12:30 pm which is sponsored by the Connecticut Community Foundation. Our senior social offers socialization, monthly informational topics, and upcoming senior trips through the recreation department. We meet in the Fellowship room under the Congregational Church at the rotary from 1:00-3:30 pm.

Would you be interested in becoming a volunteer? Many opportunities are available as well as flexibly to meet your personal needs. We offer many opportunities including driving to appointments, visitation (home, hospital and nursing home) friendly phone calls, short term meals, hospice volunteers, water booth volunteers and senior social helpers. Do you have some time to share with our residents, we would love to hear from you. We touch the lives of many of our residents and we are” neighbors helping neighbors “What a gift our volunteers are to our community!
