The First Congregational Church, 795 Riverside Avenue in Torrington holds a food distribution event on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30am. For more information contact the food bank at 203-469-5000. The full schedule of Mobile Pantry locations and links to more food resources are at www.ctfoodbank.org/gethelp. Please note that the Mobile Pantry schedule is subject to change, so check the website prior to going to the distribution event. There are also other events offered throughout the year that we will post here.

Annual Donation From The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
On November 3, 2020 Goshen Community Care & Hospice received a check in the amount of $500. From the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program. The funding will help Goshen Community Care & Hospice continue its mission of Community Service in Goshen. We thank the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal program for helping us during this difficult year.
About the Archbishop Annual Appeal- Since 1981, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal has been able to assist tens of thousands of people- regardless of race, religion, or color—across the Archdiocese of Hartford with health care, education, housing, emergency expenses and in numerous other areas. It is through the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Vicariate Outreach Program and the generosity of its donors that the Appeal is able to assist a wide array of community-based charities throughout Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties.
Light up a life – virtual video 2020
Due to Covid/CDC restrictions, our annual “Light up a Life” ceremony will not be held as an in person event this December. Instead we will be videotaping the ceremony around mid-December and will then post a link to our site for public viewing.

2020 Pewter Ornament
This year’s pewter ornament, crafted by Woodbury Pewter, reflects our Town’s fortitude during the Pandemic, and heartfelt thanks to all those who take great risks to help us get through these difficult and uncertain times. Many thanks to Cynthia Baldwin of Goshen who graciously agreed to design this year’s simple, but meaningful ornament.
The cost of the ornament is $15.00 and, as always, 100% of the profits from the sale of the ornaments will help support the services that we provide to our Community.
